China Week Project

In summer 2008, Mulberry recognised the coming of the Beijing Olympics through China Week, a special programme funded by China Now! This cross-curricular project, led by the Language Department, in association with Learning Support and the Global Learning programme. The project was cross-curricular involving a range of lessons and activities in many departments.
Highlights of China Week included:
- Chinese Opera Day, when all Year 8 students were removed from timetable to learn opera skills.
- Chinese Arts Day when all year 7 students learned about Chinese Arts
- Chinese Arts Celebration featuring Mulberry students and professional Chinese artists and performers
- Beijing Olympic Forum, in which students debated whether we should boycott the Chinese Olympics due to Human Rights Abuses.
