Special Features

The OCR Nationals are all course work based whereas the applied ’A’ level is a mix of coursework and exams.

All students are offered a one week work placement in an area of HSC.

Students have the opportunity to visit a local day care centre as part of their course.  A HSC conference with practitioners from the Health service is also arranged.  We have links with Bart and the Royal London Hospital for student nurses to come and give talks.

Current developments include preparation for the launch of the Diploma in Society, Health and Development from September 2009.

The structure of the department allows for progression through the different levels.  Many students then go on to university to study a HSC based degree such as nursing
