Global Education

Students’ experiences at Mulberry are greatly enriched through the Global Dimension of their education. Through a wide-range of innovative activities our we prepare students to thrive in our diverse, rapidly changing, and interdependent world. Programmes such as the Global Classrooms Model UN, Mulberry Youth Conference, and International Week events enable students to engage with the issues that are shaping their future, while discovering their own leadership capacities. In addition, Mulberry students build international and intercultural understanding through direct exchange and visits, IT-based projects, and a wide-range of curriculum-based and arts initiatives. The programme is enriched by our links with a variety of international partner schools and organisations. Mulberry’s work in this area has been described as “ground-breaking” by by Prof. Tim Brighouse, former London Challenge Advisor to the government's 'Department for Children, Schools and Families, and has earned us British Council International School status.
Through these and other innovative initiatives, the programme delivers the eight Key Concepts of the Global Dimension (as defined by the DCSF, QCA and DEA ) - Sustainable Development, Conflict Resolution, Interdependence, Diversity, Human Rights, Social Justice, Global Citizenship, and Values and Perceptions – and in so doing prepares students to be active and engaged Global Citizens.

Mulberry Youth Conference
Founded in 2002 the Mulberry Youth Conference draws young people together from around Britain to build bridges as they explore issues of common concern.
International Debating
In an age of globalisation, one of the great challenges is to discover the logic of others’ point of view. Debate teaches students to present their ideas with clarity, to listen carefully to their opponent’s points, and to explore differences in point of view with calm, clarity and logic.
Global Classrooms- Model UN
For the past three years Mulberry School has served as the lead institution for Global Classrooms – London. The Global Classrooms is an innovative educational programme which engages students in international issues whilst teaching them vital skills in researching, writing and public speaking.
International Weeks
Each year we celebrate another nation and culture through the school’s international week. Last year, Mulberry celebrated the Beijing Olympics through a wide range of China Week events.
